Mango Flax Chutney

Mango Flax Chutney is a typical Bihari side dish that's prepared in the summer months. This chutney is rich in antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids, as it is made with healthy and seasonal ingredients. Flax seeds is roasted and added to fresh raw mango, to which green chutney and ginger are already added. Typically enjoyed with Dal Chawal, this chutney is said to prevent the people from sun stroke. It also serves as a healthy dip and can be enjoyed with vegetable chips such Tapioca Chips and Carrot Chips. Also, since it is not a common chutney, one can put this dip in the party menu as well and enjoy with different delicacies.

INGREDIENTS

1largegreen mangoes

1green chilli

3teaspoonjaggery

2teaspoonflax seeds

1teaspooncumin seeds

1teaspoonblack salt

3teaspoonwater

1teaspoonmustard oil

1inchginger

How to make Mango Flax Chutney

Step 1

Put a tawa or a pan over medium flame and add flax seeds on it. Roast the seeds over medium flame and stir in between so that they don't burn.

Step 2

Peel and roughly chop the raw mango and add to a blender jar. Next, add all the remaining ingredients except mustard oil and jaggery to it and pulse to a fine paste.

Step 3

Transfer to a bowl and add jaggery powder to it. Pour mustard oil in the last and mix well and your chutney is ready to serve. Enjoy with Dal Rice or Sabji Roti.
